TrailSmart: Great Trails of the World is a comprehensive mobile app that provides in-depth coverage of a selection of long-distance trails. It can be used independently or as a helpful supplement to a printed guidebook. Once downloaded, an internet connection is not necessary.

TrailSmart is fully-functional with all trail content included. In-app purchases are available for optional offline maps; however, everything else is already included at no extra cost. The app is free of advertising and hidden fees.

The 'Trekopedia' in TrailSmart is a comprehensive resource that includes extensive information about each trail. Users can search and filter the content, view it on a map, and add their own notes. The notes can range from simple reservation numbers to copied excerpts from websites and more.

Interactive Offline Maps:

TrailSmart offers powerful and flexible maps that display the user's current location on the selected route. Pins on the map represent all the locations covered in the Trekopedia. By touching a pin, users can access the related entry in the Trekopedia. Filtering and searching options are also available. Additionally, detailed offline maps of high quality can be purchased within the app, ensuring full access to maps even without an internet connection. When connected to the internet, users can also access online maps.

Intelligent Compass:

Follow the yellow arrow! TrailSmart's intelligent compass provides guidance based on the user's current location and selected route. The compass dynamically updates as the user moves along the trail, considering all turns and twists. Even when exploring towns off-route, the compass can accurately point users back in the right direction, eliminating the risk of getting lost.

Pre-Departure Planning & Preparation:

TrailSmart simplifies route planning, allowing users to configure the sections they wish to follow, divide them into stages, and review distances and elevations. The app comes with pre-defined popular routes (full and partial), which can be customized to suit individual preferences. Users can review and rank hotels, guesthouses, and other accommodations, flag locations of interest, add personal notes, and more.

Up-To-Date Content:

TrailSmart's content is regularly updated and expanded using the latest available information. Users can check for updates directly within the app and download new content anytime without having to connect to the App Store. This ensures that users always have access to the most current information.

No Internet Connection Required:

All of TrailSmart's content, including detailed offline maps once initially downloaded, is stored directly on the user's device. As a result, an internet connection is not necessary to use the app.
